I just want to say thank you to all the ladies that stress the importance of keeping your children RF for as long as possible! I took that to heart and now I am very thankful I listened to all of you.

On Saturday, my girls and I were involved in a head-on collision. The thankful part is that we all walked away from the accident. I have had several people (including DH) ask me about turning my 2 year old FF and I told them no that she is safer RF.

Please continue to stress the need for RF as long as the seat is rated as I truely believe it saved the life of my DDs this weekend.

Thanks for sharing your story and for the positive feedback about rear facing as long as possible to the max. rear facing capacity of the carseat. I hope everyone is feeling well and all is going smoothly after your crash. Please feel free to post about replacement carseat selection if you'd like input on that after your crash.

WOW! I'm so glad that you and your family are safe! Thank you so much for sharing your story with us. Posts like this are very helpful in encouraging others who may be a bit more skeptical about extended rear-facing.

I know it was already mentioned, but please feel free to ask if you have any questions about dealing with the insurance and getting replacement car seats.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I am amazed at the number of people that don't see the need for RF. Anyone that watches the u-tube car crashes should be convinced.

I'm so glad you are all safe and unhurt! Do you mind me asking what seats your girls were in? I'm just curious :)

Thats what I was wondering.... I am glad everyone walked away from the crash unharmed. I know it is safer for little ones to ride RF and people just dont understand the benifits of RF. My 27#, 28m old will be RF for a long time.. Good luck on carseat shopping. My DH and I were in a crash on the interstate and DD wasnt with us but we replaced her seat. It was such a breeze, you can keep the cover of your seat. I had a MA so I saved the cover but they told me to cut the straps and everything else up, I picked out a new seat and they cut me a check. Then they came by that day and took the old carseat and destroyed it.
