Booster Seat recommendations please Montery?

again..lol

I solved an issue earlier by buying another seat. Now we need yet another one. And not wanting to buy another harnessed seat. I need something easy to install for another grandparent.

We have been letting my son use his booster on trips to Walmart and around town a couple times a week, trying to get him used to it. We have the Graco Turbo. The lizard one. He tells everyone about his lizard seat. He sits in it wonderful. I am so proud at how well he sits in it. He doesn't even complain when we go back to the Radian. We have both seats installed in the car. lol

Problem is, I am not liking how flimsy the Graco feels. Maybe I am used to the steal of the Radian. We are thinking of the Montery. So, I have questions about it. How easy is the latch to use. My mom has arthritis in one hand and things like that can be hard for her.

With the Graco, I find it hard to reach and buckle him in. That might be my issue though, don't know.

My son is 46 inches, I know, very tall, and 50 lbs as of yesterday at his doc appt. Doc said he is one of the tallest 4 year olds he has seen.

We have a monterey and really like how sturdy it feels. We use latch with it in our truck and it seemed pretty easy. It doesn't really install tightly like it might for a carseat. I just connect the latch buckles, tighten the strap some, and that is it. It's main function is to keep the booster seat attached to the car for those times when it isn't being used. If your mom has difficulty with using latch, she doesn't need to use it at all.

Do you have any stores that carry the Monterey? It may be good to try it out with your son first as it is a bigger seat then the graco. My 4 year old has sat in her sister's monterey and she seems too small for it. Her older sister though fits great in it.

I found one place that says they are a retailer, but when I call, it sounds like a mailorder place. I know the address, so I am going to go by there.

I like that the latch is to hold it in. I never remember to buckle the empty booster in!!

I can get the Monterey attached VERY easily  now taking it out is a different story  I spent 10 minutes, easily trying to get it out of my mom's '09 Accord-even hubby had a hard time getting it out!

Josef is "flirting" with 40lbs, all of his other stats are in my siggy ;)

Seen it today and wow, what a nice booster. Way nicer feeling than his Graco one. BUT, he kept saying he does not like it because it does not have lizards on it!! Kids!! Hope I can talk him into it. Luckily he does not complain when he goes to the Radian most days.

Maybe you can iron on some lizard patches to the monterey.

One other booster that people seem to like is the vivo. Maybe check that one out too if you have one nearby. I have the monterey, parkway, big kid, and turbo and out of all of those, the monterey is my favorite.
