aching neck and head in car seat

Does anyone have a child who complains constantly about her head and neck hurting in the car? I'm looking for a solution for dd. Ever since we turned her FF, probably a year ago now, she has complained about this. I have tried several different seats, I bought the comfy soft to use with our RN, I've tried reclining when the seat allows it, etc. I can't find something that makes this child comfortable in the car. She is 39.5" and 36 pounds. Her current rides are Regent, RN, or EFTA. She has outgrown the comfortsport.

I have been entertaining the idea of a RF MR65 for her but she's so close to outgrowing the RF limits I feel like it could possibly be a waste of money. We own 7 seats between the 2 kids and I think DH would NOT be happy if I added an 8th to the mix, especially if she had a growth spurt and couldn't even use it RF within a matter of a couple of months.

She has been to the doctor and has no medical issues that could cause this. She is treated every other month or so at the chiropractor just for maintenance.

Any suggestions? I want her to be comfortable and she just isn't. :(

Could it be motion sickness? I get a terrible headache and my neck aches in addition to the nausea. I never actually get sick, just feel like poo. :(

Hmmm, I never really thought of that. She never complains of nausea though. But I suppose it couldn't hurt to treat it as motion sickness and see what happens. We have a 13 hour car ride coming up (and 13 hours back 3 days later!) I would love for her to be comfortable for it.

:twocents: The Sea Bands (armbands) worked great for my motion sick DS. They were about $10 at Walgreens, a lot cheaper than another new seat.

This has been happening on and off with my DD since she's been in a booster full-time- it seems that leaning forward or looking down (she will draw on her sketchpad on her lap) causes it. I don't know what seat you have, but could she be leaning forward just tipping her neck enough/long enough to cause it?
