I actually saw SEVERAL seats going well above their retail price. What gives? And they're not seats that you can't find elsewhere. I know sometimes people go bonkers over a certain cover (and never "get it" that you can buy most covers from Britax) and are willing to shell out big bucks for it, but these are seats that are still in stores! The one there is being sold from Albee Baby, and is even on their website WAY cheaper than that! I think people just hear what seat they "have" to have, hit eBay to get it "cheap" and never actually check to see how much the seat would be in a store.

Something smells rotten in Denmark....the high bidder has bid that same amount for another BV from the same seller.

That is crazy.  Something's wierd especially since both high bidders have 'monkey' in their monikers. If I was the seller, I wouldn't rest easy until payment is made.

Hmmm, can they be shipping the seats to somewhere Britax isn't, possibly Mexico or South America?

Sale has ended and the final price dropped down to $355. So someone was a shill. Still, it's hard to believe that there's a buyer out there who will pay extra when all they have to do is shop around to see that $355 is way overpriced :(

The thing that got to me is that the shipping is not included! $35 on top of the inflated amount. Ouch. Wonder if the buyer will eventually come here to figure out how to install it.

Is shilling when you get someone to bid just to help jack the price up?

Babysurplus is Specialty/Albee baby.

I just wanted to say that I think because of that Youtube video about Kyle Miller, people are rushing out and buying higher weight harnessing seats. And a lot of people tend to believe they can get good deals on ebay, but the supply/demand factor has kicked in. New Regents have sold for $285-$300 for the last few days on Ebay. We all know that new ones go for $249 with free shipping, but there are people out there who don't. I sure hope people realize they can't use LATCH over 48lbs.....they ought to do a show on 20/20 or something about this topic with the FACTS.

Is Kyle Miller the 3yo who died when his seatbelt failed? Sad story, but it's not making me want a tethered seat with a 5 pt harness that goes up to 200 lbs for me to use while driving!

Yes, that's Kyle's story. I wouldn't mind a 5-point harness for myself (not a whole carseat, but a 5-point harness instead of the standard lap/shoulder belt), but this is a longstanding wish of mine. ;) I'm guessing some brick and mortar and online stores are sold out of higher weight limit seats due to the increased interest in extended harnessing. This has led more folks to go carseat shopping on eBay and panic-bidding up the prices of some seats, plus there may be some shill bidding thrown into the mix by unscrupulous folks trying to take advantage of a seller's market. It sure is an interesting ripple effect in the carseat market.
