Bummed about CPS class

I have been wanting to become a tech for quite some time now, and have been looking and looking for a class in my area. I finally found one about an hour away, but it would be $235 just to take the class. Then, if I figure missing work for 4 days (I would have to close my daycare for those days) and the cost of commuting, it would actually total about $600! Unfortunately, thats not something I can afford right now, and I'm SO disappointed. I had no idea it would cost that much.

Wow! That's a lot of money to take the course! Mine was only $60. I'm sorry--I would be so bummed.

I think most of them are only $60, but the one here has a 'local' fee of $175, so add that to the $60 SafeKids fee and its $235. I'm thinking about asking the First Responders/Volunteer Fire Dept in our tiny little town to help me pay for the class so that I could do car seat checks at the Fire Hall or the School. Right now, the nearest car seat check station is about 45 miles from here!
