Okay, I have read my manual over and over, and I'm still not 100% sure on this!!

DD is getting close to outgrowing her ETFA RFing. The question I have is, do I HAVE to tether the seat FFing, or is that just an additional safety measure?? If I don't have tethers, is it expensive to have them put in??

Thank you!

Tethering improves the performance of a seat, so you should always tether if you can, but the EFTA can be used without the tether if you don't have an available anchor for it. If you post your vehicle make, model & year, we can let you know if it's possible to have tether anchors installed. Prices vary greatly, from totally free to quite expensive. We can tell you if your vehicle is eligible for free anchors, as well.

Thank you. I would definitely like to have anchors installed if I can.

I live in North Carolina and drive a 1993 Mercury Sable.

There are two tether anchors in the cargo floor for the outboard positions. They may be under a snap-off cover (I'm not sure what the note in the LATCH manual means). The part number for the center position is F17Z 78613D74-A.
