Re: Combi Coccoro

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration requires that car seat manufacturers (and vehicle manufatureres) self certify their products before they go to market. The manufacturers are expected to meet the rules set forth by the government. NHTSA tests only if a problem is reported. The manufacturers want to provide a quality product and certainly don't want to get sued.

As far as the Ease of use Ratings, The Corccoro just came out recently and wouldn't be on them yet. They come out once a year.

Search for threads pertaining to the Corcorro and you will find members that have experience with them and would be happy to share the pros and cons.

Good Luck!

Re: Combi Coccoro

I see in your sig line that your DS is about 18 months old? If that's the case I would skip that seat- you won't get much use out of it. We can recommend some seats that would give you more bang for your buck if you are interested- we would need your vehicle/year, size of child, weight of child, wether they are RFing or FFing (RFing until at least age 2 is preferred by the AAP, though they ultimately want to see kids RF to the weight limit of the seat or there is less than 1" of hard shell over their heads), and your budget guidelines.

If this seat is for another child disregard all that :D

Also- there are no safety ratings for carseats- they either pass or fail the test, and if they fail they don't go on the store shelf. There are "ease of use" ratings that give you an idea how easy the seat is to install/use with your child, but each vehicle can present it's own challenges. Ultimately, proper use is up to the parents, but having a CPST check your seat and install can help clarify any questions in person.
