Frontier vs. Nautilus

I keep going back and forth between these two seats. I was leaning toward the Frontier and went to purchase on elitecarseats, only to read a review on that site that said this seat cannot be properly installed in the second row of a '09 Odyssey. Does anyone have experience with this? I am leaning toward this seat b/c my daughter is tall and this seat has a greater depth.

Bumping back up, b/c I found the carseat.org forums due to this very question!!

It sounds like the Nautilus is the way to go (from my research) but I have loved Britax products (Graco not so much) so I am hesitant.

I have also been looking at the Sunshine Monteray, but that would mean using the seatbelt with dd starting soon, and she is only 4.5 years old (and totally at the top of her Marathon). My goal was at least 5 years old, and the Nautilus would probably get me through at least 5.5 years in the harness. That would be good... I'll either be driving through another MN winter, or in LA- either way, I'd like my kiddo in a harness. :)

It gets so hard for bigger kids!! And I have the Odyssey issue also. ;)

I don't have an Ody, so I can't answer that specific question. However, I wanted to mention that just because one reviewer had difficulty with installation, it certainly doesn't mean it's impossible. ;)

Hopefully someone here with experience with this particular set-up will be along soon to shed some light on the issue.

Both seats, the Nautilus and Frontier, are excellent seats. The harness height is almost exactly the same so that shouldn't be a deciding factor. The interior of the Frontier is a bit roomier, so it might be a better fit for chunkier kiddos. Many people have great experiences with both of these seats. If you like the Nautilus and it fits your child and your vehicle, this would be a great choice.

I'm really not getting how that reviewer couldn't install an FR in her Ody. Read THIS review, it's much more realistic... http://carseatblog.com/?p=32

Anyway... we adore our Frontier, and I find it to be such a good fit as a booster seat later, that's what would sway me towards it (the Nautilus is a surprisingly bad booster fit on a lot of kids, even the model on their box has the belt riding up on her abdomen )...but it's worth a shot to test it installed and as a booster in your car before you decide. Babies R Us will let you take seats to your car to test them out
