would you do it?

I just got my replacement radian.. and they send an 80.. I had an 65 for my Fiona... I installed it ffing, cause I had recently turned her ffing, she is about 32 lbs, and 38 inches tall, and 3.5 years old.

I was thinking about it all day though, maybe turning her back since now her seat limit rear facing is 35 lbs instead of 33 and she still has PLENTY of room heightwise to rf as it is a radian.

She is begging me not to, DH is begging me not to, right now I still have the seat ffing, but I am considering turning her... we leave at 6 am for a 5 hr road trip to a wedding.. I have till then to decide lol.. do I risk a road trip of screaming cause I turned her back or do I just let it lie and be glad she was able to rear face to 3 and 3 months, (she is 3 and 5 months now)
one other con is that it would be tough with the two rfing seats in the second row, for Julianna to get to the third row where her radian is.. but that is managable.

wwyd?
and all it would take is one of you to say do it, and I will.. I am SOOOO tempted to just do it..

I dont know if I would turn her back RF at this point, especially if she is begging you not too. She made it a long time (longer than either of my girls) and while she is still safer RF, she is not unsafe FF at this point. If she really would pitch a fit, then that would put you at a higher chance of wrecking because it would be harder to concentrate on the road. :twocents:

I wouldn't. I agree with the pp that she is safe FF, though maybe a little bit safer RF. I turned DS before he was 3 and never thought about turning him back, even though he wasn't quite 33 lbs for a while.

well I turned it back.. sometimes she likes the idea of being rfing again, other she is in a contrary mood.. tonight was her contrary mood..if it is really a problem tomorrow I will turn it back again .. I am bringning my safe stop along in the diaper bag JIC lol

lol so I am totally on my own.. maybe I will turn her back in the morning if she gives me a hard time... if she is happy then I will keep her rfing, probably just for the long ride, as I am the only one driving all 5 of the hrs and I am an ok driver but I know that I can be one of those panicky drivers

I would probably turn her RF just for this ride if nothing else. How does she sleep when FF? I would think at 6 am you might get some sleep out of her on a long trip and I would think RF would be better for sleep (if not, I would be ok with FF).

Could you put her seat in the back, so the older one can get back easier?

My 65 has a place on the cover, at the top, to hook the SafeStop so it doesn't get lost.

i'd leave her FFing, esp. since her being grumpy won't help you--an already "panicky" driver. also, you don't want her to come to hate road trips--they are already bad enough without her associating them with you panicking and turning her around again.....happy kids on a road trip are safer for everyone--less driver distraction.

nope.. I can't even rf an infant seat in the third row, it is really tight back there.. I can rf a scenera, but she is too tall to rf in a scenera.

Who complained about RF first? The kid or the DH? I know my kid only fussed about RF after DH grumbled and rolled his eyes about it, otherwise she was perfectly content ;)

So she went down to the car on sat morning and was actually excited to be riding backwards again for the wedding, she was happily rear facing the whole way there and back.. she is not asking to turn back so I will just leave her till she asks to turn back to ffing
