Touriva

I have 2 Regal Rides (Touriva) in my car. The manufacture dates are Dec. 05 and Jan. 06. I like the seat because it is narrow and it allows me to fit 3 across when needed in my 4 door Echo. It's too bad Cosco made the Scenera wider because it limits affordable choices for smaller cars. I would like more expensive seats but they (besides Radian) are mostly wider, and I don't use them on a daily basis anyway (I help out a family in a complicated situation).

The Regal Ride/Touriva can still be found for sale in Canada, mostly at some Canadian Tire stores.

So, for me, the Regal Ride/Touriva works great (I'm from Canada).

hm, a fred's by my house has some from mar 06 and they have the 2 piece chest clip, which is why I asked. My cousin needs a new seat and it is looking like she will only agree to the absolute cheapest even though she can afford and would benefit from a slightly more expensive seat($99 instead of $39)

They do still make the Touriva, but it's in very limited production (Like usually for 'free' programs, I think)

I believe it was during 2005? I used the Touriva as a spare seat for my oldest and have a Scenera as a spare seat for my youngest. The Touriva had twistier straps, a paper clip style one piece chest clip, three sets of shoulder harness slots with slightly taller top harness slots, and it was a bit narrower overall. The Scenera is slightly wider, has thicker, less twisty straps (but they still can twist), a nicer cover which feels a bit more padded, a two-piece chest clip, and four sets of shoulder harness slots. The Scenera's lowest slot is lower than the Touriva's and at a better height for smaller/newborn babies. The Scenera's top slot unfortunately is not quite as high as the Touriva's so it will be outgrown quicker height-wise forward facing.

It's kind of a toss-up as to which one I like better. IMHO, it would be better if Cosco came out with a new, improved model by combining the taller top shoulder harness slot of the Touriva with the lower bottom slot of the Scenera. Then it would be a more versatile seat to fit both little babes and taller/long torsoed kids.
