You know you're a car seat nerdie when....

You're at a stop light looking at the tops of the backs of the boosters visible in the third row of the Honda Odyssey in front of you and think "Two Parkways - looks like the Granite cover"

you're bored in the car, so you take the carseat manuals out of the glove compartment and start reading (obviously when dh is driving:))

Yep, but it is when I am waiting for him to come out of work. And what are they doing in your glove box? Mine are still attached to the seats :)

... when your sister has calls you a "car seat geek" for stopping to see what seat that is the van for the umpteenth time in the parking lot or informs you "that kid should be in a car seat," before you even notice just so you DON'T say it ( I was purposely looking away, any time I see that many kids get a four door I don't WANT to know.)

... you walk more slowly than usual thru the lobby of the daycare on field trip day to see how many carseats you can identify... (and how many are likely expired :()

When you carry around CHAD and WHALE stickers in your purse along with a permanent marker. You also have an extra locking clip in there just in case.

When you don't want to destroy the 2 expired marathons in the basement because, well, you're attached. And it really doesn't matter that the regent that's sitting next to them didn't sell, because it might come in handy at some point!

You have gotten your totally uninterested sister interested in carseats. We were at Disneyland a few weeks ago and there was a child in an infant seat who looked to be at least 30 lbs and tall torso in an old Cosco seat. Hopefully they were just using it for the park, because his head was way over the top of the seat.

... you no longer inch forward at stop lights because you are anxious to get moving again - you are actually just trying to get a better view of the carseat(s) in the vehicle next to you.

... you worry that people will mistake you for a car prowler as you peer into numerous vehicles in parking lots on the way back to your own.

...you look for seats & proper installs on your way back to the store from your lunch break.

....you cringe every time you see an infant bucket in the checkout line wondering WHAT misuse you will see next.

You wonder if you could go car to car in the mall parking lot and reinstall all the seats without getting caught.
