My friend had a Jeep cherokee, and I remember her just telling me the other day she sold it because of a carseat situation. She is a HUGE cps advocate also. I will call her and ask her why and get the specifics. I know she has a marathon and a "parkway" I think?

I have another friend that also has a Jeep cherokee. She has three kids and I am pretty sure she can get all three carseats in the back. I know you won't need three carseats, but maybe in the future?
She loves her Jeep Cherokee, but unfortunately is getting ready to have her fourth so she is going to be getting a new Ody. I have never heard her say anything bad about it. Her and I are car fanatics, so we talk alot about cars. The only thing I would check on is I don't think I have seen one with headrests in the backseats? Maybe I am wrong though.

Thanks for the info.My main concen is carseat compatability. Are the dodge vans or Duragos bad?I probably have to buy from Capital Car Credit or something because I owe a lot on my Kia Spectra. They will locate a vehicle for you though. The Kia is totally not carseat friendly to me anyway.

What exactly are you wanting to know about the dodge vans. You asked if they were "bad"....fuel eco, resell value, safety, carseat compat, reliability???

As far as carseat compatibility I dunno. I am sure there are some people on here with a Dodge van that could chime in.

You could probably get a used, stripped down version of one for a pretty good price.

I have a '96 Cherokee and with the exception of just a few issues I love it.
My issues:
no head restraints in the back seat
very narrow back seat
seat is very cushy, top tether is a must IMO to prevent too much head excursion
generation 3 seatbelts.

But it gets GREAT gas milage, is a breeze to park, fun to drive, and I like having the 4wd available when I need it. I *can* fit a FF MA in the center with a PW on the driver's side outboard. I'm pretty certain I can fit a 2nd PW in the passenger side outboard position.
