What is the difference in height betwee the FPSVD and the new Marathons?

I just love my 3-across with my FPSVD, but I am thinking a marathon would give me extra height. The new marathon's are taller than the radian's right?
I probally won't be able to get it until september, but that is ok since I don't think they will outgrow the FPSVD till after that.

If the marathon gives me extra room I might just buy one, only if they are on sale.

Edited to add: The marathon and the FPSVD is about the same base right? So it won't be different than the FPSVD?

To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a difference (or if there is, it's minimal). The FPSVD is based on the Decathlon shell, which is the same as the Marathon in terms of height dimensions. There aren't any new Marathons with higher shells; in 2008, they changed the RF weight limit from 33 to 35 pounds, though.

The True Fit and the Radian both have taller shells than the Marathon or FPSVD. Including the base, I'd say my True Fit is about the same height as the Marathon, but there is a lot more growing for a kid in a True Fit because the shell of the seat is taller.

ya..what bree said. What "new marathons" are you talking about? The slot height on marathons is WAY lower than a radian. or are you talking about how high it sits up on the seat due ot the shell? I'm sort of confused. this is not new. LOL.

Yes, this. The FPSVD and the MA are the same size, with the same height for the top harness slots. (I have both.)

There were some reports of new MAs with taller top slots early last year, but I believe that Britax has confirmed that they did NOT make any changes to the seat in that regard.

Ahhh ok. I was thinking it had a taller shell(from the reports before).
Well, that made my decision easy-another radian it is come fall.
Thank you everyone. I am writing everything down now, so I know. With the daycare I swear my carseats change so much, but I think with a radian it won't.

FPSVD = the discontinued Fisher Price Safe Voyage Deluxe convertible, made by Britax from 2006-2007 for the U.S. market, and badged with the Fisher Price brand name.
