to tether or not to tether? (Frontier in booster mode)

That is the question.

No mention either way in my manual.

Hmm...I just assumed yes if you were using the lower anchors (just to use the entire LATCH system), I have written to Sarah Tilton asking if she could advise me whether it could be just tethered and not lower anchored (say, in cars that only have top anchors) and she told me she'd get back to me. So far no word (it's been a few months at least, maybe I should write her back? Maybe you can do it this time, that's her screenname :thumbsup

I installed it without the tether.

It's nice and tight with LATCH (hadn't ever tried a LATCH install in my Honda since DD is 50lbs) So I know that's another can do.
DD is thrilled to finally be in booster mode. She was about even with the top harness slots but had some time left. She's been bugging me for months to go into the booster full time. We're trying it out

At 49", 50lbs and almost 6.5yrs old, I owe it to her to prover herself I think. She is so responsible.

I will write Sarah because I am curios.

Do you think I should go out and hook the tether, or just leave it be??

If using the lower anchors, you DO attach the tether.

I don't know if you can use *just* a tether with no lower anchors though.

yep, i just read the online manual gypsy linked to. it's pretty clear. lower anchors + top tether.

I was on Britax's site earlier and I could only get the first 2 pages of the manual to download.
