Britax Straps

Again! Sorry to be back on this same subject. I am switching straps on two Marathons, tan for black. I just got the new seat, and I have to say CowMoo in person is not nearly as cute as the pics! Bummer. Anyway, some of you said that you just pulled really hard and the adjuster strap came out. And that you were able to wedge one back in, all without unstitching. If this is possible (even with extra work,) I will do it. However, I am worried that all that jamming may affect the integrity of the adjuster itself. You think it's fine?

Also, the tan ones have been barfed on. I wiped with a cloth and some diluted dish detergent, but the smell is still there. Can I scrub them with a toothbrush and dawn? I don't want to get them too wet. Where is the fine line here?

Thanks!

My dh has fingers of steel and he was able to replace and adjuster strap like that. I don't recommend that method for mere mortals, just order a new strap to be safe. I don't think you can damage the adjuster from momhandling if you do want to try, though (it is EASY to get it wrong, be sure to route it the RIGHT way...a new strap would come with a picture sheet to follow).
Diluted dawn or tide and a washrag have always been adequate for washing my straps...a little rinse in tepid running water...

Oh no, hum, what is the right way? I was just switching between two seats so I don't have a sheet to follow.

I looked at my other Britax seats, and it looks the same. They are both locking and holding. Taking them out was no problem, and the first replacement was easy. The second took me a while, but it is done!

DD barfed on her BLVD straps a few months ago - i had to use a toothbrush and baking soda diluted in water - got the smell right out - I tried dawn but i could still smell it.
