Snugride question...

I was wondering if anyone has ever hear of the crotch strap ripping off of the seat from a SR? I was talking to a mom at TRU last week and she told me this happened on her old seat, she said the webbing itself tore... I just hadn't heard of this before.

I haven't heard of it - though I have heard of peope who have had straps mold while the seat was in storage in a garage or basement... perhaps the crotch strap somehow got damaged or moldy - assuming it was an older seat?

I'd want to ascertain the age of the seat, how it had been stored/cared for etc. If nothing stood out that would be cause for concern, it's something I would encourage the parent to contact TC about (assuming the seat was still in her possesion.) Webbing shouldn't just give way like that unless there's some sort of mistreatment and/or prior damage involved.

Thanks... I wondered that too, I initially though she maybe washed the straps or something, she said no. She said the seat was newer, I think purchase new in 2006 or so. I told her to call Graco for sure... if I talk to her again I will tell her to contact TC about it.
