are telling peopled that they will have to turn their child around because her knees are starting to bend.

The child that I heard about is only 31" and not quite 20 lbs and just a year old.

What is up with this? are these not techs that do the inspections?

Do you happen to know where the clinic was located and which SJA branch organized it? That's most definitely not what techs are being trained to tell parents - in fact a child not even 20lbs yet it is not even an option to ff.

My hope would be that they didn't actually see a real tech.. The current curriculum indicates the minimums to ff are 20/22lbs and walking unassisted, and of course the child must meet the minimum ff'ing weight limit of the restraint system. In the future - and I'm not sure exactly when the change is happening, the minimum weight limit will be raised to 22lbs to ff and walking unassisted will also be added as a requirement.

At any rate - bent knees is not in the curriculum and this particular child doesn't even meet the weight minimum - which is taught as being an absolute requirement.
