retrofit belts

My husband drives a 1985 crew cab chevy truck which does not have shoulder belts in the back. My son is 4yo , 41 lbs and 40" tall. He is still in ff carseat because of the harness, but uses booster in my car w/ shoulder belt. Is there a way to retrofit belts for booster?

You can call Chevy and they'd likely know.

What seat is he in? A harnessed seat is MUCH safer than a booster, especially for a child so young and so light. If he's in a seat that's only rated to 40 pounds then he needs something more, but at only four years old you may want to get another harnessed seat (or two) to take him through the next couple of years. That would also solve the problem of needing to retrofit the truck.

We were told at a recent conference that most of the vehicle specific parts have not been made in years. You would probably have to be lucky to find inventory of them locally or spend a lot of time calling around the country to find someone who does:-(
