Help removing XT cover...

Ok so I have the XT pretty much torn apart but there are little black tab things on the bottom part towards the hip area... I have pulled, they are not snaps I have no clue how to get the cover un-hooked from this. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?? TIA!

Ok.. I was wondering about using something to pry them off with.... will they/should they come off with the cover?
