Boosters FOREVER?

So For Kicks I measured the depth of my back seat mostly becasue it seemed really long to me. It is about 20in from the back of the seat to the edge. I am 5'9/5'10 and realized that my knee barely clears the edge of the seat. I know this is part of the 5 step test and though this is a long way away for my kids I do sometimes shuttle older ones who are out of boosters in their parents cars but need them in mine. Are my seats just really deep? What is the point you would feel comfortable letting age and height take stage over that step?

Thats my leg...
Turbo is backless and installed and buckled I know lots of people are familiar with them so I thought it might give some perspective

My ex-MIL has a full size van with one of those back seats that turn into a bed. The rear-seat is so DEEP that I would need a booster to ride there, but my oldest DD, who is the same height as me, fits just fine. As do several teenage boys I've seen ride there.

So there is hope that someone will fit in your vehicle someday.

do you think that the tb is comfortable being so much shallower than the seat? I don't want to ask the kid that rides in it I know he will say no thinking that it will get him out of the 'babyish' seat.

If anything, the seat will provide additional support, it shouldn't be less comfortable at all unless there isn't much room between the front seats and the back seats - but it looks to have ample leg room.

Not unless it's making his legs stay somewhat straight, causing them to hit the back of the seat in front.

good point who knows what I'll be driving four or five years when we hit boosters. If I get my grad school loans paid down...
