BIL has one. Can't tell you much about it b/c AWD is unnecessary where they live. He had to get AWD cuz that's all they had on the lot that had teh options he wanted.

Generally, the tires get eaten up quickly. It was a known problem. Not sure if they ever fixed it, but they had warranty issues related to it.

It's also a heck of a lot more sluggish than my mom's non-AWD Sienna. Same year. It's just that his is the XLE AWD and hers is the LE. Dunno if the sluggishness is all the AWD system's fault, or is it cuz the leather, dvd electronics, etc also helped load the car down. But I can tell a huge difference btw the two.

I've heard owners generally like their AWD Siennas though. Hopefully one who owns one will pipe up (who has used the AWD in snow and stuff).

I really like my AWD Sienna. I have never driven a regular one so I can't comment if the AWD ones are more sluggish, mine does fine. It's not the fastest thing on the road but I have no issues getting up to speed.

The run flat tires can be an issue. Our's were completely shot after exactly 2 years of use, not heavy use either. Just be aware that replacing them is pricey. I get 19MPG, other people might get better gas mileage, my house is 7 miles out of town on a highway with a steep grade so I do burn the gas.

It handles very well in the snow/ice. We had heavy snowfall the last two winters and I never once had an issue. Even DH who was skeptical that it would be able to make it up the highway in the winter when the plows hadn't come through yet, has been very impressed by the AWD.
