Title pretty much says it all. Preferably on the cheaper end of things. My brother and sil need one for their 6mo who is going to outgrow his infant seat soon.

Thanks.

The Scenera and Avenue are both good, fairly skinny choices. The Scenera is bare-bones, no EPS/EPP foam, but good for ERF (RF to 35 lbs., FF to 40, but won't make most kids to 40 by height.) It runs around $50 (less on sale, more for some patterns.) The Avenue is the taller, slightly cushier sibling to the Scenera, for $30-40 more you get a seat with EPP foam that will take up the same amount of space but will RF to 35 lbs. and then last most kids all the way to 40 lbs. forward facing since it has nice high top slots. It also has more padding, etc.

Both the Cosco Scenera ($45-$55, I think Target has a sale for $40) or the Safety 1st Avenue ($80ish, Kmart and Sears carries it) are relatively narrow. The Avenue is worth the extra money (energy absorbing foam, longer lifespan (8 years vs 6 years), taller top slots, taller shell, etc) but both are great budget seats.
