What if there was a line or arrows on the seat that would serve as a guide as to when kids would outgrow rear-facing by height?

I think a couple of seats might have that. I know the TF has one for when the headrest has to be put on.

One problem with it is that the covers move. What's important is where the child's head is in relation to the hard shell, not the cover.

Although it would help to reduce ridiculous misuse because the parents are completely clueless.

I came very close to sewing a line of red thread one inch from the top of our RA when we had it, my dd was so close and I got sick of trying to figure it out, but I think that would be an awesome idea....

I was thinking that a horizontal striped cover would do a good job (and be trendy too). Each stripe could be 1 inch thick, so there would be an even measure.

That reminds me of the old fisher price boosters which had a line for where the child's shoulders needed to be for using that booster (showed lowest height and tallest height with lines). It looked like a really neat idea.

My old Evenflo Triumph (original one) had a yellow line and when their head hit that line you had to turn them FFing. I loved that idea. The covers rarely moved so it wasn't an issue.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea. Even if the cover moved, it would be a lot closer than nothing for the parents who don't read the manual.
