Question History of 3-point and 5-point

I wrote previously with a request to obtain a 3-pt Graco Snugride (c. 2001) for testing. Now, I'm looking for historical information on when 5-point harnesses were introduced in the Snugride line (i.e. looking for earliest date of manufacture) , and how long the 3-points were available following the introduction of 5-points (i.e. when they were discontinued). So, anyone with a Snugride - can you please let me know the date of manufacture, model number, and if it is 3-point or 5-point system?

Greatly appreciated.

I know some friends of mine had a 5pt Snugride (front adjust--it was a while before they had 5pt rear adjust:(for their daughter born in March 2000, but I think there were some available before that. The 3pts stayed around for a LONG time, 2005-06?

I had a 5-point Snugride (Adirondack print) in late 1999. At the time, it was the only 5-point infant seat I could buy at TRU.:twocents:

Yep, I'm thinking the overlap while they were phased in/out was pretty significant.

Also, there are still 3 point infant seats on the market. (Not SRs though.)

There are no 3-pt harnesses being manufactured for public use, but Graco still makes a 3 pt for institutional use (ie for hospitals or SK to give away).

That's what I meant. :) But a lot of them end up on Craigslist/Ebay/etc. pretty quick.
