Tangentially related to carseats, something I've been pondering...

Does torso or legs weigh more? I know all kids fit in all seats differently, and I'm trying to make some sense of this.

My daughter is 48" and 51#-52#. Her weight percentile has always been higher than her height percentile, and she's not skinny, but she's not chubby either (at least, I don't think so). She has a very long torso -- she wears mostly 7 and even some 6 pants, but I've been buying size 8 shirts for length.

Edit: I don't have many good body photos, but this shows both her general size and shape.

Josef is 41lbs, and just recently grew in the torso again which makes his torso height now 16.75" (gotta move those straps-again!) and overall 42". He seems to be a child who is always very close to the same height as weight....40" 40lbs, 36" 36lbs, etc....my child is weird I guess, lol.

Bethany is also long torsoed, 48" while weighing about 54-55 lbs now. She is thick in the thighs but she is not chubby. She has 17.5" torso I think, about 1" over the sencd from the top slots in the Regent. She wears an 8/10 in shirts and 6x/7 in pants.

I would assume the torso weighs more per inch. It's got bone and muscles and blood vessels, like the legs, but then it also has all of our organs. Granted quite a few organts are usually empty or filled with air, but still.
