09 Outlook with captains chairs. Post advisory Regent. Is it normal that only the recline bar and very top/headrest touch the seatback? Dh is uploading pictures for me. I did use an old receiving blanket between the recline bar and the leather seat. It is rock solid even with the seat reclined. I don't want her to be unsafe and she doesn't like her booster seat at all.

Yes, that is normal. It doesn't look like it would be right but it is.

I would take the blanket out though. It is acceptalbe to use a thin towel or blanket under most seats but it isn't recommended. The Post advisory Regents actually have two strips on the bottom of the seat that grip it to the seats and a blanket would interfere with its installation. I have never heard of it being acceptable to have it on the recline bar. JFI, I had a Regent in my van with leather seats for 2 1/2 years and it never did a thing. When we got rid of our Regent it took a few days for the dents in the seat to go away, but then it was good as new.

Thanks. It just looks so wrong after years of my carseats becoming one with the seat. The receiving blanket was a compramise with dh who is concern about the bar damaging the leather. It is very thin and is only between the bar and the seat. I can't bunch it or move it as tight as it is. For the pictures I tucked it around the vehicle seat for a clear view.

How much of the base can hang off the edge of the seat?

Here are some of the pictures showing the install.

I can't see the picture.

I can't remember how much can be off the edge of the seat. Hopefully a tech will be around shortly to answer that question. It seems like it was less than 25% of the base.

I am not a tech but I asked a similar question and I was told the regent had to be 80% on the seat. Yours looks fine to me. Could you take a full side shot so we can see how it fits from the headrest down to the bottom?
Thanks!
Jen
