Someone gave me a backless booster...

And I dont know know what to do with it. I know it hasnt been in an accident. It was from my BIL and they said they dont use it any more. It expires in 2014, which will make my oldest 8 at that time. I'm not sure how much use I will get out of it before it expires. I dont plan to put her in a backless until I must and right now she is in a frontier. I kind of thought that when she out grew the frontier she would go to a regular belt. So I am thinking of passing it onto someone else so it at least gets some use. The problem is its got a girly pattern and I dont know many people with girls. I do have a friend that has two girls, one of which is only 4 and not sure the older girls age. I thought of giving it to her but I dont want her to use it with her 4 year old. Should I be so picky who I give it to?? Save it for a back up??

Hold on to it and use it as a backup for your child's friends who you need to drive around or give it to someone who you feel would need a backless booster (older child in nothing right now but really should be in a booster).

I'd save it for a back up. Especially when your kids get to kindy and beyond, it's handy to have an extra booster for situations like if your LO's bringing a friend home for a playdate, or if you're picking up your LO from a Brownie troop meeting and another mom calls and asks if you can pick up her DD too. At our girls' most recent Brownie meeting, one of the moms who was picking up 2 other girls besides her own DD found out that neither of the other moms had left boosters for them (technically since they're all over 6YO they're legal in CA, and it was about 0.5 miles local drive, but still, grr....)

Yeah, just make sure it has all its parts! (If it's a TB it needs the screws, many boosters come with a belt guide, instructions, etc.)
