Century 300 car seat?

 I saw one of these - really neat looking in a vintage kind of way - at St. Vinnie's today. I've seen OLD seats there before that make me cringe, but this one looked OLD (it was actually in like-new condition, but the style looked old). Does anyone know when they stopped manufacturing them? I googled, but couldn't find it. I did call and spoke with the manager, and she assured me they would take it off the shelf and destroy it.

You can look up the manufacturing time frame for seats sold in the U.S. on the Safety Belt Safe USA online carseat pictorial at:
http://carseat.org/Pictorial/0_PicLink.htm It's rather like looking at mugshots of carseats to find the one, lol. To give you a head start on narrowing down the timeframe, Century hasn't existed as a carseat brand since approx. 2002 or 2003 when Graco bought out Century.

Definitely an older timer Century. A member here with the screen name Classicseats collects old seats and might be interested in that oldie.

I wish I had known - I could have gotten it :) But now they have hopefully thrown it out, so I can't get it anymore.

No worries, Classic probably owns one or more of those already. There's another thread here in Carseat Chat with pictures of some of his collection. The main thing is to keep an oldie like that out of circulation rather than having it sold to someone who mistakenly thinks it would be okay to use, and you did good on that.

Oh nice. It was discontinued before 1990. That's the best the pictorial guide does for the very very old ones. Glad she's taking it off the shelf!!
