Vent Look at how much Ruthie has grown/how little grow room left in the Nautilus!!

When we got this seat only over a year ago (when the seat first came out), this child was using the 2nd to the top slots.

this fall, she had to start using the top slots.... okay.

Well, Sunday, I took the kids to the aquarium and took some shots of them in the car before we left... and noticed THIS... when I looked at the pictures

Look how little room she's got left!

Just when I was thinking she'd make it to age 7, I'm now worried that, with one growth spurt, she might not make it to age 6!

ugh.

Needless to say, I'm not rushing out to buy a bigger seat... nor am I going to move her out of the harness till I HAVE to, but Now you all can begin the countdown... to the eventual Ruthie's big booster comparison....

Wow, that seat looks very reclined. I bet if you install it more upright you'd gain a fair amount of room.

Josef and Ruthie are in a race to see which one outgrows the EH seats first, huh? Josef could have lasted in the GN a bit longer, but we had other issues with it and went ahead and moved him to a booster in Daddy's car (he is doing GREAT!) last week. We started AT the bottom slots of the Regent at age 3.5yrs, and now at 5.3yrs he is AT the third slots! When will our kiddos finally start growing some legs, lol.

speaking of Josef... I got a CALL from Graco finally as a response to emailing them about the crotch strap issue you had... she's now trying to find out an answer from higher up and will be calling me back!

I don't suppose you have pics of him being on top of it (as well as pics in general of him in the seat) that I could offer to email them??

I bet Ruthie wins, though... she's in the same top top percentiles as Damian was (before he just flew right off the growth charts and keeps soaring above them)

And the seat is not super reclined AT ALL.

I have the seat in the max recline, but I don't have my captain's chair reclined... if I put the seat itself in no recline, she can't sleep comfortably in it, though... I'd have to recline my captain's chair, which then would REALLY recline it, no matter how upright it was itself.

I know it doesn't SOUND like it makes sense... but I swear, that's how it is.

here's a full shot of her in it... the ones in the first post were cropped to show the grow room left

And look... her knees aren't even over the edge yet... my girl is just ALL torso.

ETA - it may be the backwards headrest that makes it look more reclined... the captain's chairs are actually both upright... yet the other one (which you can see a bit of in the bottom pic) LOOKS much more upright because the headrest was on the regular way because Jeffrey was using Olli that day instead of his Monterey.

Nope, my youngest 2 girls win:p Liliana would have outgrown the nautilus by 5, and was out of the regent by 6. Raffaella, at 3 years 5 months, is in the 3rd slot of the regent, and top slot of the nautilus. She outgrew her decathlon at 3.25.

I will have to dig up the pic I sent Graco showing how far Josef was sitting on the crotch webbing...I cleaned out my photos the other night and hope I did not deleate that one. The GN is on its way to NY now, and as it was being priced for shipping I was singing "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey, goodbye"...that thing literally became a PITB.

as she grows older and sleeps less you can adjust the recline to maximize room.

oh, I will be... I was still surprised, though.

Jennifer - I didn't even think of that... of course you have a kid who runs even taller and makes mine look like a shrimp by comparison... lol.

I think she has at least 6-12mos left in the harness, especially if you're able to ditch the recline as she starts sleeping less and less in the car. I honestly wouldn't be panicked. To be perfectly honest I'd be more worried about how squishy it looks in the shoulders, and whether or not she'll be sitting on top of the crotch strap/slot sooner than later. :shrug-shoulders: That's sure a cute cover though...

from your lips to GOD's ears (especially on decreasing how sleepy she gets in the car... that girl is one sleepy car rider.

she's not remotely on top of the crotch slot yet... and she's super comfy with her shoulders (this picky princess I have would be complaining if she weren't)... so so far, so good.

I'm just not ready to wave a total bye-bye to harnessed seats even in 12mo.

Time has flown bye with Rue.
