Britax Expiration date

Hi,

I have a Britax Roundabout that we no longer need but I was wondering how long before a seat should be disposed of. I was thinking about giving this to a friend of mine that does foster care but won't give it if it's close to expiration/expired. The manufacture date is 2/12/2000. Thanks so much for your help!

It expired 6 years from its manufacture date. So, it expired this past February. You can keep the cover if you want to sell it or give it away, but destroy and dispose of the seat itself.

Thanks so much for the information. We'll be getting rid of it and hopefully, no one will be picking it up from our trash.

Here is a great link about expired seats and it shows a picture of one destroyed. You can put the carseat in a black trash bag so noone will know what it is, or literally destroy the seat like the picture shown in this link. A lot of people don't know that carseats expire, and will unknowlingly think someone has thrown away a nice usable carseat
