A few off the wall questions about the TF...

Sorry for all the questions....the closest place to me that carries the TF is over an hour away.

I believe I read that you cannot use the infant padding after 22llbs. Is that correct? I love the Morning Mist pattern, but it looks like once the infant insert is removed, my favorite color on the seat will be all but gone. Does anyone have any pics to share of the TF (any pattern) without the infant insert, so I can see what the seats look like without it.

Now for my really silly question. Does the warning label come in the same place on all of the TF's (ie front and center)? Yes, I have been known to let the little things drive me crazy and Im afraid that might annoy me. Not enough to keep me from purchasing the seat, but if its possible to find the warning lable in a less obvious place, I would rather go that route.

I found the TF in Aurora on the Compass website and it looks like its black....but the TF ARB is being presold in Blue Aurora. Does anyone know if the regular TF was ever available in the Blue Aurora?

With both seats at their most upright angle, does the TF take up more or less room than the SS1 RF? Our SS1 is already a tight squeeze in the Jetta and Im crossing my fingers that a TF will give my husband a little more room in the front seat.

Any help would be grrrreatly appreciated!

Yes, the infant padding has to be removed after 22lbs.

Yes, the blue on the morning mist does disappear after removing the padding. There is blue piping on the outside of the seat that is still there. I still like ours, even without all the blue.

I don't ever remember hearing about a blue Aurora, but I really don't know.

As far as front to back space rear-facing. I have no way to compare it to the SSI. We had a snugride in a different vehicle than we own now. But, the TF takes up less space, rf, than the Radian and FPSVD (MA clone). The TF and EFTA take up about the same space, rf. I'd pick the TF over the EFTA, hands down. We love our TF!

From what Ive seen most (or all) convertibles will take up less space than infant seats not only because they can be more upright but because of the nature of the beast I have an ss1 and an efta currently and it most DEFINITELY takes up much less room and I had the ss1 installed more upright

I know for a fact (after a poop blow out last week) the MA/BV can take up alot less room than the SS1. ANd the TF has been said to take up less room than the MA (never tried it myself, but everyone here says so). So yes, the TF can take up less room than the SS1.

I have a Misty Morning TF and had a SS1. The TF MOST DEFINITELY takes up less space than the SS1! No question. We absolutely could not put the SS1 behind the passenger seat with any room at all left for the person riding there. The TF is behind the passenger seat now and I still have plenty of room. In fact, my 6'2" friend rode there with plenty of room as well.

I still like the MM without the infant insert, but I know what you mean. It is the best color on the seat but most of it is on the insert (that yes, must come out at 22lbs). You can use the head pillow thing though. Here is my DS with it in (we don't use it. This was the first time I installed the seat).

Here it is with the pillow but without the insert, uninstalled.

I didn't have an SS1 but i had a snugride - with the handle down, it came up between the 2 front seats - All the convertibles I have had, including the True fit took up less space front to back than the snugride. I also found that even though the True fit had a much taller shell than our Britax seats, it still seemed to take up the same amount of room front to back, I believe because it sits lower and not up on a base like our Marathons and boulevard do:)

Here are some pics of my DS in a TF (Casino) without the infant insert:

The pillow is still in but the infant insert was taken out:

Hope this helps. I can post up some pictures without the pillow in, if you want.
