May need new seat sooner than I thought

In my sig pic you can see that Jessie has several inches above her head in the EFTA... tonight I ended up sitting in the back next to her (in another car) and noticed she had a MAJOR torso growth spurt. :( She was wiggling and moving around so I didn't get an actual measurement but I think she's down to about 2-3" at most, so that would be 1-2" of torso growth left... I'm thinking closer to 1".

I was really shocked that I hadn't noticed this before! So, the new seat WILL be a Radian or TF and she'll be getting it instead of Tyler, no doubt about it, because I am NOT ready to turn her FF. Yes, I do know that an inch of torso growth could take a year, but her torso definitely grew more than an inch this past year, so I don't think she'll make it another year RF in this seat. For reference, the pic in my sig was taken on her 2nd birthday.

I shouldn't complain though... she is almost 3 years old and still does have room to grow RF in this seat, and many kids don't make it that far. It just caught me by surprise.

Well, it's a good thing you were planning on buying a new seat :) Like you, I don't like to wait around for the last inch of torso growth before switching seats. Sofi has 1 inch to grow in the Scenera and I'm impatiently waiting for funds to buy a new seat (well, 2 new seats as we use 2 Sceneras). I'd go with the TF myself

Wow. DD just grew 3 inches in 4 weeks, yet I swear she got shorter in the torso. I'm not sure how that works, but eh, whatever.

I too am not one to push limits, if you're going to switch to something else that is equally safe.

Just gotta say, I love your siggy pic. She is sooooo cute.

Thank you so much. :)

Yeah, it's between that and a Radian. I like some things about both seats, but they both have their cons as well. I think trying them in my car is going to be the way to rule one out. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll be able to try both.

Yeah, I guess she was due for one. She's still a lightweight though, she had her neuro visit last week and she's 26lbs. He didn't measure her height though, but I know she shot up in both legs AND torso because her pants are all too short now.

Strange that her torso seems shorter. I'm not one to push limits either, so I want to try the TF and Radian as soon as possible so I can order whatever I need. I'm really torn right now as to which I prefer, I think the vehicle fit will be the deciding factor.
