My SO is moving out of state in just a few weeks -- Leila & I are staying here for college & PreK ... we might follow him after this semester?
Anyway, I found some more clients/families & am hooking up with a NPO for ongoing carseat checks (we're applying for a trailer of seats) & am hoping to transform the house into a parenting resource center: birthing information & support, weekly potlucks & book discussion, play groups, evening & weekend child care, family field trips, lending library, etc. We're even thinking of having community gala events to offer awards to certain members of community & I'm beginning a newsletter of events. I also wrote an article on safest practice for child passenger safety that I'm hoping will be published in at least 1 of the 6 local papers I submitted it to
Finally, Leila's school principal is letting me set up shop at the Halloween fair to share carseat advice & her teacher is handing out my business cards to parents
Since I haven't had a steady income since early June & my SO is leaving, I decided that just in case I really needed to apply for some financial assistance They expedited my forms & already set me all up! The real struggle right now is that my tenants have not paid their rent & that is my main source of income, without which I'll be forced to apply for Bankruptcy & could lose my vehicle *GASP* More good news, though, is that the Family Court judge has granted me permission to move out of state with Leila if/when I choose *WHEW*
So, please wish me luck with my tenants & also with my new endeavors???
