ICK!!

I had to pick up my cousin's son yesterday from school. He is 6. It was an emergency and all I had was the Intera base as a backless for him to sit in. It was that or nothing.

YUCK! I did not like it AT ALLLLL. It made him sit up so high!! And those armrest things? Seriously, unsnapping them to route the lap portion of the belt through them every.single.time is a pain!!

I always suspected those armrest things would be a nightmare in a real car, since I could barely get them to unsnap in the store. Thanks for confirming my belief, lol, and I'm sorry you had no other option!

You don't have to unsnap them every time. Just once to to route the lap belt through on the side opposite the buckle. The lap and shoulder belt both go through the armrests on the buckle side, and you do that without opening it.

This is why I showed it in my store in two peices. Oh, and the big gaping holes in the booster seat? Yeah.

I'm with ya. It's the wonkiest booster  But, it is one of the few that tends to fit adults who don't fit seatbelts

Okay, it does look like it would be a pain, but it looks really wide (which is what I need). How wide is it? And, can the base be bought alone or do you have to buy the whole seat to get the base/backless booster part? We have a Monterrey which we love, but I don't think DS is going to last long in it. It is already at the highest setting and he completely fills the seat. He has a wide backside.

I'm not sure exactly how wide, I can go measure when I finish my lunch.

As far as I know, you have to buy the whole seat to get it. It comes attached to the seat.
Also, it is REALLLLLLY high. It made the small 6 year old I had with me sit up sooo high. His head was even with the headrest in the lowest position in my Malibu.

Very very very quick measurement.

I got ~11 inches between the belt guides and ~14 inches at the widest part at the front.

I'll try to do better measurements when I get home. I'm at work and it was a little hard to measure it out in the parking lot ;)

Thanks Gypsy! Great comparison photos. I sooooo wish we could afford a Frontier. Maybe by the time he actually outgrows that Monterrey.
