My aunt took my two boys (& their cousin) for Saturday evening so we could have a date night. When I was moving boosters into her van, she asked if one of them couldn't just use the booster she had in there already for her son (who is 13 y.o. & has DS.) The seat was a 10 y.o. Eddie Bauer harnessed booster. The harness was still in (although she's been using it as a BPB) and it was in the center position with a lap belt only.
So I got to do a little car seat education and she was actually eager to learn. Yay! I talked to her about not using that center seat for anyone (she had it in her brain that the center position was safest - period). I explained to her about the five-step test to make sure her older son (11 y.o.) is okay in just the seat belt also. Then, I traded her one of my HB TurboBoosters for the Eddie Bauer seat and showed her how to use it - outboard! Now I have another expired seat in the garage to dispose of. Ha!
