When do they need to be removed?

My sister has taken this seat for her DD, and I don't have instructions available.

TIA! :)

I have not checked my manual in a while but I am almost sure it says that when you turn the seat FF you must remove them. I can check for you for sure tomorrow when I go out to the car if no one else here knows. But I seem to recall it saying that they can be used for RF only.

The body pillow and head support can only be used when rf'ing.

(I originally had put that the head support could be used ff'ing, but double checked the manual and am editing the post to reflect that it cannot be used ff'ing - just in case somebody read it prior to the edit.)

Thanks, guys! So you could technically use the pillows all the way up to 30lbs RF, eh? I'm sure most parents wouldn't, but I can imagine a few big kids crammed in there still using the pillows.

Thanks again for looking that up! :)

P.S.... this is my "new" 1000th post.

Happy new 1000th post. :D

The pillows on the EFTA really aren't bulky the way that infant inserts are on some other seats. The bottom pad is maybe 1/2" thick, and unless they have a DLX model it only goes up behind the back a couple inches and doesn't really add any side support at all. The head pillow is rather useless IMO, but certainly won't have any negative effect in terms of fit.

So I don't really think there would be much cramming involved in leaving the pillows on the whole 30lbs rf'ing. I took ds' out shortly after we started using the seat, but it was because the head pillow was useless and he didn't need the bottom one anymore. He was 14 months old when we got it.
