Gavin was playing with his little remote control car tonight, and his tiny toy elephant was sitting in the front seat... Gav comes over and tells me- "Mama! Elephant car seat! Car seat? Elephant?"

Now DH thinks I'm really nuts, and that it's rubbing off on the kid! :p

Just had to share hahaha

Well, being under 4 lbs, the elephant may be better off in a car bed. :shrug-shoulders:

I think an elephant who weighs less than 4 lbs. has worse problems to contend with than improper car restraint.

Exactly. Think of the social problems for a tiny elephant, IF he manages to survive in a big-elephant world!

Well, that just raises the question of the wisdom of cross-species adoption for tiny elephants. Can his social and cultural needs really be adequately met by a human family? Are they going to make efforts to make sure he's exposed to elephant culture (both tiny and non-tiny?) Is he ever going to feel "normal" or like he fits in?

So, apparently it's contagious here too... I have the Scenera and Cosco HBB out of the closet because I'm under a mandate to get rid of some of these seats, and my husband goes out there to find my almost-five-year-old looking at them. She sees him and says, "Abba! Here is what's the problem with the LATCH! It is too short, you have to do this to make it longer and then you can put it in tighter. Babies are too little to face the front, they need to go backwards in the car. And big girls ride in car seats too, everyone has their own kind of seatbelt and seat and you have to use the one for you that is made for people your size. And don't wear your coat in the car."

My avatar shows DD1 "helping" DD2 get her tiny baby buckled in the Como.

Ciara was happily playing with the buckles when Bethany walks up and says "No, those straps are way too loose, you need to tighten them," pulls strap, "and the chest clip goes here." She looked at the doll and said and then "and you really need put them in a lower slot, they are over her head!" They looked at me then I told him the "baby" was just too small for that car seat and they would need a new one.
