The SS1 is a bit bigger than the 20/22 lb. limit Snugride models, but might fit if the handle is left up in the carrying position (which is allowed per Graco). Any chance you could take the car to a Babies 'R Us store where they usually allow you to try out display model seats in your car? That way you could try out infant seats in the car before deciding on a purchase. FYI, Graco also changed the name of the SS1 recently to the Snugride 32, pretty much the same seat as the SS1 except the Snugride 32 has a higher weight limit of 32 lbs.You must read your carseat and vehicle owner’s manual and understand any relevant state laws.
