I am just curious .
The European infant carriers are from 0lbs up. I am curious though as to how they fit a 5lbs baby??

We have established the 29" Snugrides won't fit a 5lbs baby well, hence why I am asking. ...

Maxi cosi cabrio fit my 5lb 7oz little one quite well. Must admit i used an infant insert to make it more padded - the things you do when you don't know better:eek:

Whip out a tape measure and find the seat with the lowest slots possible. Snugrides now have 6 inch bottom slots, was the one that you checked into the older model with the 8 inch slots? Anything with 5-7 inch bottom slots, including any allowable padding like the Key Fit or Combis have in the US, should probably fit fine (a bit above the shoulders is ok, that tiny light baby is NOT going to ramp out of an infant seat, unless the straps are simply horrible and way too loose, like the really old Peg Peregos were :p)
