Flying US Airways...

Not sure where this would be best to post... feel free to move if it doesn't fit.

I'm trying to book flights through points and the cheapest option is US Airways... anyone have experience with them regarding car seat use and CARES harness use? I have one child under the age of 2 and one over so I will have to pay for on of them. TIA!

DH flew US Airways with DS1 a year & a half ago. No problems at all installing the carseat on the plane. I made sure he brought the manual to the car seat just in case.

We are flying US Airways in September with both kids in their car seats. Hopefully things will go just as smoothly as they did for DH & DS.

Thanks. I was wondering also... will they allow you to bring a seat on for a child that you haven't paid for if there is a seat available?

If you get a helpful airline worker, they will. However with the number of flights that have been cut and the amount of overbooking that goes on that is increasingly unlikely (to have an extra seat.)

For safety, comfort, and sanity, even in this market I would buy two seats for your kids. You can't count on getting an empty seat anymore. They'd probably fill it with cabbage if someone would pay them to ship it. So buy one for the under two child and bring the seat on board. That way you also have leverage to make sure you get three together.
