The verdict is still out. Bring your tape measure and kid to the store and decide for yourself;)

I.

yes, please. My dd has a torso of 15.75 -16 inches seated with crossed legs, but is over the avenue top slots by a good half inch....
It's definitely a phantom seat.
but certainly about the best 40 lb seat there is, since most kids will actualy GET to 40 in it, not the 30-35 that most 40 lb seats get kids to before being outgrown by height....

I saw the Avenue at Sears yesterday. It looks like it's a lot less nice and cushy than the Uptown did. That was kind of disappointing to see.

While I can understand that reaction, the less padding actually makes it a BETTER seat for most people..the uptown is so heavily padded, it greatly reduces the interior dimensions of the seat..which is fine is you are using it for a newborn, I guess, but many 3-4 year olds literally can't wedge their shoulders in it by the time they are 35 pounds. So..it's a double edged sword.

My dd is 30 pounds and looks wedged into the avenue. It is less padded, but that eps foam still makes the seat a tight squeeze for shoulders. I wish I could post the picture of my ds in the seat with his 15.5 inch torso. (He's right at the top slots.)

Is there a way you could post it? Do you have a camera or cell phone to take pics? I would love to see it. My k-mart just closed so the next one is 30 minute drive away.

I am really considering the avenue or uptown as my next seat for daycare.

That would be great if it was 16.5 inches.

Now, I feel like I need to go to K-mart. Gotta figure out when I am going to the inlaws next the kmart is right by them.

My 3y/o has a 12.5" torso and is 27lbs. She is on the 2nd from the bottom slots rf. She has so much growing room its kinda pathetic. She may even still fit into a SS1!!!
