Sunshine Kids Radian 80 in the middle seat of a Focus?

The title sums it up!

I have a dd who is nearly 4. She is petite (36 1/2", 30 lbs.) and is currently in a Britax Marathon (forward facing).

Anyway, the straps are getting worn out on the Marathon, and the latch seems not to be "catching" a lot of the time. I was thinking of getting her a Sunshine Kids Radian 80, but it's really important to me to be able to keep her in the *middle* position in our Ford Focus. There are no side-curtain airbags so I really like her to be in the middle.

I'm concerned that the Radian might be too big for the middle position. Any advice?

Thanks.

I haven't seen the back seat of a Focus, but I know the car overall is about the same size as a Civic. I have my daughter rear-facing in a Radian in the middle seat without a problem. I have even had an adult on each side of her. The Radian fits in the middle forward-facing, but because there's a slight hump in that position, it's slightly easier to get a good install outboard.

I hope this helps, at least a little.

Fits great! (I use the seatbelt.) Even me and my big bum can sit beside it. It does kind of obscure the driver's side belt receptacle, but it's still accessible (just a bit of a pain.)
