Getting a Radian to Europe

I thought radians often did not fit rear facing on planes? I know it doesn't matter for transporting it without the child but what about when the child is in the seat and still too young to foward face?

Yes, that was one of my concerns about getting a Radian and one of the reasons I decided to wait on purchasing one until DS is older. I didn't know about that problem until I started this thread. :) Although in the bulkhead where I was sitting I think a Radian might have fit.

Also, the flight crew almost made me turn my 11 month old FF anyway (misunderstood regulations) and many EU airlines don't allow RF car seats for children of any age so it wasn't a huge factor in my decision making.
