WWYD: EFTA Cover

So last weekend we had a crayon melt in DH's EFTA. I was able to use soap and water and got it out but I did put it in the washer in cold water/gentle cycle rinse only to get any residue out JIC. Well I'm about to put it back on the seat itself and notice it has a big lump where the padding inside near the head part got all bunched up. DH got most of it smoothed out but it's still a little bunched up.

So here is my ? should I contact Evenflo and see if they would replace the cover or let it go?

Here are some before and after pics, not sure if you can tell though.

Was it washed according to manufacturer's instructions? If so, and it's still under warranty, they should replace it. If not, it's not a warranty issue, as you didn't follow instructions, so they shouldn't replace it.

It's just the crappiness of the EFTA cover. Mine did the same thing, but on the side. The padding in the cover isn't stitched in, the cover is sewn around the padding. If it is laying pretty flat, I'd just deal with it. Some more wiggling may fix it some more. If it's pretty bad, call evenflo. However, I think they only have a 90 day warranty and may not be very helpful.

According to the instructions, you can wash in cold water in the gentle cycle and dry on low heat. I hand washed the area in question and only used the rinse in gentle cycle to remove the extra soap residue that was still there and let it hang dry. I emailed someone from Evenflo that I've had good luck with in the past to see what they might do.

I can't remember where I read it, but I know someone had the same thing happen and Evenflo replaced the cover. Not sure if it was within a certain amount of time or what the exact circumstances were, but I think it's definitely worth calling if you can't get it flattened out enough.

Well the girl got back to me and they won't cover it since it's out of warranty time frame, bummer. Why do they only offer a 90 day one anyhow?

To save them money. I wash every car seat I get as soon as I'm sure I'm going to keep it to make sure it doesn't tear up on me.

Well, that and I have issues about having things clean.
