Yeah, I walked to pick up dd from school the other day and had to walk past all the daycare vans. The kids sit in the middle positions with no shoulder belt and the kids sitting in the outboard seats seem to always have the shoulder belt BEHIND their shoulder. I makes me sick with worry.
I've talked to the school about a car safety program with no luck. I'm just going to have to walk around the long way.....

Just remind the daycare administrator of all the lovely lawsuits they'll be facing when the shiny van gets in an accident...

(Sorry, that doesn't address the OP at all... )

Just curious - what do you do in that situation? Address the parents? Call the police (depending on your states laws)? We saw a car the other day, about 3 days after the new laws took affect (we are no longer a seat under 4 state). I am fairly sure this little girl was under 8, but not positive --- If I saw a 2 year old without a seat, I'd be wanting to do something - but what?

I get the license plate and call 911. I've said in the past that there is a child without a seatbelt/carseat, but I think what I should do next time is say that a child's is being endangered (may get their attention a little more) and that they're not seatbelted properly and may be killed or hurt soon if the parent isn't pulled over. Remind the police that this isn't a little violation but a real and constant threat to a child's life.
