M five step tested today!

Her booster was in my mom's car so I tested, she's grown four inches since the last time I measured so I figured it was time to check again. Yup, she five step tests in my car. Feet even touch the ground. She's 9 years old (10 in April), 90 lbs, and 53".

I am conflicted - I like the booster for SIP and will probably still use it on most trips, but on the other hand I was really sick of moving it back and forth, that thing is huge... and she had to have it adjusted so high it hit the roof of the car, so our time with it was limited anyways.

She's growing up!! :crying:

She has adequate head protection? I can't remember what you drive.

That's exactly why I will probably keep using it most of the time, I don't have side curtain air bags. Her ears are below the top of the seat back though so she's ok there.

When the booster outgrows my car though I don't know what we're going to do...

Did her feet just touch the floor or were they flat on the floor? 53" just seems short to me for passing the five step test.

I know! Yes, her feet were flat on the floor. I especially felt for exactly where her hips were to make sure the lap belt was on them, not on her belly, and the shoulder belt was right where it falls on me. I'm not too surprised that she passes in my car though - because I'm only 5'1" and my seat belts fit me wonderfully. The ones in most cars don't. Maybe I will take pics on Monday - after that I don't have her for six weeks! :crying:

I do still prefer to have her in the booster though. She has a Frontier and the SIP is just amazing, I wish vehicle seats had SIP. But I was looking at having to do another TA and get an 86Y or a RSTV if the Frontier had to go up one more click, and I think I'll be okay with not doing that at this point.
