Okay, so we've gotten the old Snugride out to use when the baby's born, and I cannot for the life of me find the little shoulder pad things, or the smaller of the 2 head supports. Of course, Graco is claiming they didn't come with the seat, which they DID. Does anyone have an idea for where I could look to buy these things besides Graco?

I had a 'top of the line' SR in 2004 and it didn't have either of those things. No shoulder pads, and there was just a single head rest. Are you sure they weren't aftermarket products

Positive--this was a 5/2005 DOM. If only *something* heavy would fall on it, and I could convince dh that we REALLY need a new Keyfit30  I'm going to hit eBay for now...

Check Craigslist, too. There are snugrides on there all the time and maybe you will see your missing parts (and get a chance to get a seat out of circulation ;) )

Sorry to hear that you can't find the harness covers. I didn't have any luck ordering them either.

Just after DS was born, I called Graco to purchase harness strap covers for the Snugride, since I read in the manual that you could purchase replacement parts. I talked to a CS rep and explained that I would like to order harness strap covers.

She asked how old the infant was and what the problem seemed to be. I told that the straps were rubbing on his neck, particularly in the summer when he was wearing light clothing without collars. She insisted that I must have the straps too tight and the chest clip too high. She advised that I should move the chest clip lower so the straps won't rub his neck. I told her that the chest clip is supposed to be at armpit/nipple level as recommended by the carseat technician. I persisted and said that I would like to order the pads. She advised me that she would check with a supervisor about our unique problem and call me back. I never did hear back.

I don't mean to hijack your thead, but I just wanted to share my Graco CS story;)

Hey how is that baby coming along!? Lucky you for your SR having that stuff. I have one I bought in '05 and it's a 3-point harness that came with NOTHING. I'll be getting a new Chicco Keyfit30 with our next child. You know you could always take your SR out in the driveway and pretend you're practicing the install and "accidently" leave it behind the car when you decide to back it up.
