Newborn in the True Fit (pics)

So I tried out DFS2's new baby sister in my True Fit today. I have permission from mom to post these pictures.

She is 10 days old, just under 7 lbs, and 19.5 inches.

I couldn't get the straps any tighter, I tried to see if it was stuck on something but I couldn't tell without uninstalling it. So I would have had the straps a lil tighter, but couldn't.

And the headrest seems a lil low. I wish they did something like Chicco does, have a strap go through the slot above. I think it'd fit the baby alot better if it did that.

And just for fun.. DFS2 and his new baby sister...

How sweet =)

I don't know the circumstances of your foster children, but does it look like you're going to get her as well?

No, mom gets to keep her. DFS2 will prolly go home soon also... in the next month or so.

The fit is awseome I think. She is just too cute too and her brother is just adorable!
Did mom like the seat? Or really didn't care? I don't know the circumstances for the children, but wondering does she plan on keeping them properly harnessed?

If you communicate with the parents of your foster children do you give them a pamphlet or talk to them about proper carseat use?(i remember you had issues with CPS transporting them wrong).

Sorry, I am just curious, because i plan on fostering sometime in the near future(hopefully).

Yeah, mom likes the seat alot, but she really wanted a bucket seat for her baby, so a friend bought her a pink winnie the pooh designer 22 from K Mart, the one in the background of the pics. I have talked to her alot about properly harnessing and ERF and I have given her a lil pamphlet thing. I have a TON of pamphlets that I will be giving out to all the biological parents I get.

Just curious, what cover is that? It looks nice. Is it plush/soft?

Yup.. what she said! Misty Morning and yes, it's very soft. Like the PP said, you can flip the black part over and there is baby blue on the other side, it's kinda canvasy material. But I figured the black soft part would feel best for the baby.

Aw, she is just so sweet! You have such a big heart! I really don't think I could foster, I know I would get too attached.

What a cutie pie. :)

It looks like the seat fits her well. You should be able to shorten the harness straps by moving to the shorter set of loops on the end of the straps where it attaches to the splitter plate. Take a look through the manual and you'll find how to do it in there. It will shorten things by 2.5 or 3" which should allow you to get the harness snug enough. :)

Thanks. If I use it again for a baby I will have to check that out! :)

Awwww, she looks so cozy! Since I got my TF last month I have been seriously considering having a 4th, just so that I can use it without the upper headrest and with the infant insert. Isn't that pathetic? These pics don't help though!

she is so darling!! I'm hoping everything goes well with the mom and the kids... I know you'll miss him and it's a bittersweet thing, but reunification is the typical goal when doable and so I'm just hoping that nothing goes wrong since that is what is planned.

(if something does happen, I of course hope that you would get both kids then... siblings should be together)

Oh, thanks for sharing! She looks surprisingly comfy in there for a newborn.

I have an MDX too, and am considering a TF for my next baby. I am thinking it will fit right next to my Signo, outboard passenger side.
