Turbo boosters have a 6 year exp right?

What're the risks of using them past that?

Since they only position the child in the seat belt, why do they expire?

I just noticed the tb my son's been using expired in October.

They expire for several reasons 1) Plastic degrades and can shatter in a crash with minimal force applied 2) Over time parents lose or damage parts of the seat and 3) Improvements are made to child restraint technology.

The issues of compromised and weakened plastic aside, a 6.5 year old Turbobooster does not have EPS foam in it. The seat should be disposed of and replaced immediately

That's my plan, was just wondering. It does have the foam in the headrest, but it's probably not as much as the current ones. I will destroy it properly. :D

All Turbos had foam...just less in the old ones

I've seen crashed boosters, can't find the link now, where the armrests get bent and cracked in a crash (they are doing more of a job than you think, keeping that seatbelt from crushing kids' guts), I wouldn't want to see what older brittle plastic would do in a crash
