Question Which harness slot to use on KF30?

I'm trying to figure out which slot to put the harness on before the baby comes. It would be nice to not have to change it in the hospital before leaving.

So, those with a KF, which strap has your newborn needed? My boys were 8+ and 9+ lbs, and 21 1/2 inches. I'm guessing this one will be about the same.

I'm going to guess 2nd from the bottom if you use the newborn insert. If you don't use the newborn insert (which you have to remove at 11lbs), I would guess the bottom slots. HTH!

I needed the bottom slots, but so much depends on your baby's torso length. You may have a really long baby with long legs and a short torso, or a shorter baby with a really long torso. But it seriously only takes like 1 minute to adjust the harness, so I wouldn't worry about it at all. Congrats on the upcoming arrival! :)

My 8lb4oz, 21" newborn uses the bottom slots with the infant insert. The next slots are a good half inch above his shoulders.

My 8lb, 15 oz 21 inch at birth ds needed the second, but he is all torso and probably could have come home in a boulevard. He was also already a week old by the time he came home. He had over an 11 inch torso at 3 months and is already on the top slot with about 2.5 inches above his head.
eta: I did adjust the straps at the hospital. It was a little scary to hear from my NICU nurse that I was the only mom she had seen to properly adjust the seat and fit their baby into it, and in record time.

because it would be fine if it were the slot lower than needed, but not fine if they were too high, you can always put it in the bottom slots and worry about changing it when you get home.

but if in doubt... leave the straps unthreaded.. have the carseat brought up as soon as may be... and fit baby to it and thread them.. then put it back in the car for when you leave (unless hospital requires baby to be in it when exiting hospital... a silly rule, IMO, as I'd rather snuggle and hold my baby until I put her in the seat... unless it's January-March and somewhere super cold)

:yeahthat: as long as the straps aren't falling off baby's shoulders.

Thanks for the replies.

Guess I'll leave it at the bottom for now. I know it's not hard to rethread, but it would nice if I didn't have to. Don't recall the boys having long torsos, so I'm thinking the bottom will be fine.
